Jeg har tidligere på denne Blog omtalt fænomenet som Nørdernes Diktatur. Nu blogger den evigt årvågne web 2.0 vagthund Nicolas Carr om det fænomen, han kalder "Beta Culture".
Beta Culture er det fænomen, at firmaer som bekender sig til den nye web 2.0 religion (dog primært Google), foretrækker at bevare alle deres internetservices som betaversioner. Den evige betaversion præsenteres som brugernes demokratiske mulighed for at påvirke udviklingsprocessen, men i virkeligheden er den evige beta en sørgelig undskyldning for dovenskab, arrogance og manglende interesse for de brugere, der anvender servicen.
