The deportalization of site analytics
Web marketeers are starting to realize that what happens on your site is only one aspect of your digital presence. Adobe’s introduction of social analytics to their “Online Marketing Suite” – formerly known as Omniture – points to an important trend, namely that companies need to deportalize their web presence and achieve business results wherever they can interact with their customers in the digital space. Web savvy companies have known (and acted accordingly) for a while, but now the major player in the analytics market has added the ability to actually track and trace return on investment in the social sphere.
A small step in the world of business news, but a big leap towards a more mature understanding of digital business.
